Turn It Around

Bible Text: Matthew 5: 38-48 | Preacher: Scott Roe | Series: Follow Me | God sent his Son, not to conquer the world, but to love and rescue the world.  Those two postures are as different as night and day.  It only makes sense then, that Jesus’ mission was not to conquer, but to love and rescue.  This posture was most evident when insults, meanness, slander, and persecution were hurled his way.  Jesus’ only response was that of love.

As his followers, our motivation to reach our neighbours, friends, and yes, even our enemies, must be a continuation of God’s vision to love and rescue the world back to God’s self.  As Jesus, so us!
