While words are not magical, they are powerful when spoken to us or about us. Words can be used to build up, or tear down…most of us have experienced both at some point in our lives. Jesus always went about, not only building others up, but healing, restoring and creating new life. Before Jesus ascended, he breathed on his disciples and told them to receive the Holy Spirit. That breath was the breath of new life, and it starts now!

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17

April 18 – The Transformed Mind – from Culture to Christ

Have you ever thought about the mystery of how you think, or why you think the things you do? At birth our minds were untouched by the world, but then we began to hear, feel, see, touch and smell. Where we grew up, how we grew up, words spoken to us, and what we were taught and what we learned all played a role in the shaping of our minds. This became our starting point for how we would interpret the world. And then Jesus comes into our ‘world’, and now begins the lifelong process of transformation!
