Journey Into Holiness
The Presence of the Lord – Journey Into Holiness
In this week’s message, we summarized our journey into how humanity’s relationship with God unraveled due to sin, starting with Adam and Eve’s disobedience. Their fall introduced a transactional relationship with God, where they were separated from His presence and the foundation of sin was laid. From the lives of Cain and Abel, to the story of Jacob and Esau. Symbolically, these stories point us to Jesus, who took on the curse for us, becoming the bridge that brings us back into communion with God, clothing us in His righteousness.
This set the stage for our journey into Leviticus, a book often viewed as difficult but rich in prophetic meaning. We look at the sacrificial system, that it’s not just a set of rituals but a direct pointer to Jesus. Every offering, whether the burnt, grain, peace, sin, or guilt offering, foreshadows the ultimate sacrifice of Christ, who gave Himself fully for our redemption. Through these offerings, we see God’s holiness revealed, His love for us in spite of sin, and His desire to bring us into right relationship with Him.
Holiness, as we learn to lean in and “be”, is the foundation from which God’s love, grace, and mercy flow. It shapes our character, transforms us into the likeness of Christ, and empowers us to bring the kingdom of heaven into the world around us.
