When Judgment Goes Viral
At times we all fall into the trap of judging someone simply because in one way or another, they are different than we are. Other times, we jump to conclusions because of a behaviour that someone has exhibited that doesn’t meet our approval. But judging has its sinister side that impacts entire people groups by diminishing the value of their humanity, and in turn, all of humanity. It’s much like a virus – it infects and it destroys. It’s called racism.
The Good News is that there is antidote. Reversing the effects of racism begins by listening to the other. It’s in the listening that we begin to see in the face of the other, the image of God.
