The Kingdom of God – Doorway to the Kingdom

When you hear the word ‘repent’, do you hear it from a punitive lens (punishment focused), or from a restorative lens (aiming to make whole)? In his gospel, Matthew says that Jesus preached, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” Depending on your lens determines how you hear and interpret Jesus’ message, and in turn, how you see yourself and others.
