The Way Down Is the Way Up

Jesus’ teachings are quite shocking, actually.  Kingdom life really does run counter to our way of living and how we see each other and see God.  Jesus gave an impromptu teaching on a hillside to his followers and other onlookers, that must have left his listeners scratching their heads.  For followers of Jesus, this teaching is known as The Sermon on the Mount, which is found in Matthew’s gospel.  Over the next couple of months, we’re going to stroll through these three chapters with fresh eyes and ears.  Best to put on your seatbelts and hold on!
