The Way Down, Is the Way Up – When Heaven Meets Earth

A vast majority of church people are more than familiar with the prayer that Jesus used as a model to teach his disciples how to pray – what we have called The Lord’s Prayer.  Unfortunately, we tend to use it in isolation from the ‘Sermon on the Mount’, which is the context that Jesus taught it.  In order to grasp the full weight of this prayer, we must read it through the lens of the Beatitudes.  When you do that, you will discover that this prayer is about making the beatitudes a reality here on earth.
