Many years ago it was common for Christian parents to teach their children a bedtime prayer that began with these words: “Gentle Jesus, meek and mild, look upon this little child…”. For a child, it was a beautiful introduction to God’s Son…like who wouldn’t love him? But that was only one side. Another side of Jesus is the God/man who is passionate, resolute, brilliant, and to the point, in how he lives and how he speaks.
