What Would You Give?

Bible Text: Joel 2:13 | Preacher: Scott Roe | Series: Let It Go…To Have it All | A vast majority of the church throughout the world has entered into the season of Lent.  While many see it as a time to ‘give something up for Lent’, it is much more than that. We give up because there’s something better that our heart longs for. The prophet Joel writes, “Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.” (2:13).  The tearing of our hearts before God does not bring God’s wrath, but his mercy, compassion, and deep love for you.

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!”
