Bible Text: Luke 4:18-19, Matthew 10:7-8 | Preacher: Scott Roe | Series: Dear COVID-19…The Kingdom Has Come! | Most of us have had our lives turned upside down by this global pandemic that we find ourselves in.  The news is littered with stories of loss, pain, sickness and death.  It’s no wonder many of us are experiencing feelings of grief, anxiety and even fear.  Being immersed in those feelings day in and day out can leave one wondering where is God in all of this?  Here’s the reality. When Jesus announced that the Kingdom of God was here, he meant it was HERE!  And when Jesus ascended into heaven, he didn’t take the Kingdom with him, and leave us to fend for ourselves.  Rather, Jesus instructed his followers to go throughout the world and share the Good News with everyone.  The Kingdom is breaking in, and you are forgiven!

One of the clearest evidence that the Kingdom was breaking in were the vast number of healings occurring as Jesus went from town to town announcing the Good News.  People were healed from diseases in their bodies, demons were cast out, and new life was poured into them.  Come to think of it, healing is all about life, and Jesus told his followers that “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10)  Healing…what’s it all about?
